Each single butterfly is printed by hand-pressing 'one at a time'... you could say this pillow is a true labour of love.
The method of block-printing my textiles by hand allows me the time and space to SLOW down and enjoy an artful process in my home-based workshop. I design and hand-carve each block for printing myself. Each block usually contains just one object which is then individually inked and hand pressed onto fabric to form a unique surface pattern. This method creates some lovely ‘imperfections’ that lend themselves to the organic and wholesome nature of my end products.
Materials-
base fabric on print side - beautiful hemp and organic cotton with lovely natural flecks
flip side - gorgeous Austrian vintage floral fabric (never used!) with an easy to access envelope opening
Print-
100% solvent free, water-based, non-toxic inks (Permaset Aqua) have been used that are suitable for baby and infants to wear. These inks holds fast during rub and wash while remaining super soft on the fabric

** this listing is for the pillow case only, no insert is included. However, for my own pillows at home & the toys sold in my BIRCHseed shop I use a 'green' compostable corn toy stuffing from INNERGREEN.
